Intermittent catheterization is a safe and effective method of completely emptying the bladder if you are unable to do so otherwise. The purpose of intermittent catheterization is to improve or eliminate urinary incontinence as well as to control bladder and kidney infections. Please consult your continence carer on what sterilisation solution you should use.
