What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of funding services and supports for people with disability. Under the scheme, eligible participants with disability receive their own individual funding and NDIS plan to support them to achieve their specific goals and live their life the way they want.
Previously, service providers received government funding to deliver services and supports, with little choice or flexibility given to people with disability. With their own individual funding, NDIS participants can now choose the services and supports they want and the providers to deliver them.
What does the NDIS fund?
The NDIS will fund reasonable and necessary supports that are related to your disability and help you to achieve your goals and aspirations across a range of areas including:
- Daily living
- Home
- Relationships
- Health and wellbeing
- Lifelong learning
- Work
- Social and community participation
- Choice and control

As approved NDIS suppliers, the Medisa team is here for you.
How to order for NDIS participants on Medisa?
For Agency / Provider Managed NDIS Particpants (NDIA): You can register on website and add your NDIS number. For ordering items just add them to card and on checkout page, choose "NDIS Participants Only". We will contact you to get more information and will proceed your order after claiming payment from NDIS.
For Plan Managed NDIS Participants: You can register on website and add your NDIS number. For ordering items just add them to card and on checkout page, choose "NDIS Participants Only" and on order comment box put your plan manager payment email. We will contact your plan manager and ask for payment then will proceed your order upon payment.
For Self-managed NDIS customers: If you are on a Self-managed NDIS plan, you control your ndis consumables purchasing. You can set-up an account on Medisa and order via our online store, pay for order, and claim the money back directly from the NDIS.
