Allevyn Gentle Border Lite is designed for individuals who have sensitive or fragile skin with slightly to moderately exuding wounds. Allevyn Gentle Border Lite is a combination of a comfortable and conformable thinner foam and a gentle silicone adhesive minimizing your pain on removal. This dressing is used on low to moderately exuding wounds including shallow, granulating wounds, chronic and acute exudative wounds, fully and partially thick wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers, malignant wounds, surgical wounds, first and second degree burns, donor sites, skin tears, fungating ulcers, oncological wounds and epidermolysis bullosa wounds.

Instructions For Use

1. Cleanse the wound according to normal procedures.
2. Choose the suitable dressing size for you. You can cut Allevyn Gentle Border Lite Dressing in order to dress awkward areas such as heels or elbows. Remember to use a clean technique to cut the dressing.
3. Clean the surrounding skin, remove excess moisture and clip excess hair in order to prepare your wound.
4. Remove one of Allevyn Gentle Border Lite’s protector films and anchor its adhesive side to the skin.
5.  Remove the remaining protector film and smooth the dressing over the wound ensuring no creases are left. Remember to adhere the dressing to the whole surface of the wound. 
6. If the dressing has been cut ensure any exposed foam areas are covered with an appropriate film dressing taking care not to cover the entire dressing.
7. To remove the dressing, lift one corner of it  and slowly peel back until it is completely removed.

Note: You should inspect Allevyn Gentle Border Lite Dressing based on local clinical protocol at the early stages of wound treatment. If the dressing is used on an infected wound, you should treat it as per local clinical protocol. Allevyn Gentle Border Lite can remain in place for up to 7 days depending on the surrounding skin, the wound condition or until exudate is visible and approaches 0.5cm from the dressing pad edge. If the dressing is used on sacral areas, it can remain in place for up to 5 days. However, these areas must be monitored frequently as per local clinical protocols due to their increased potential for contamination and infection. Remember no to use Allevyn Gentle Border Lite with oxidizing agents including hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide, because these can break down the dressing’s absorbent polyurethane component. Discontinue use if reddening or sensitization occurs.
