Allevyn Heel Shaped Foam Dressing is a comfortable and superior anatomical fit dressing designed for enhanced management of wounds on the heel. Allevyn Heel Shaped Foam includes a non-adherent wound contact layer, a highly absorbent central hydrocellular layer and a waterproof outer film layer. This foam dressing is non adhesive, protective and features a unique trilaminate construction.

The perforated wound contact layer of Allevyn Dressing passes viscous exudate into the dressing, the hydrocellular core of the dressing is capable of absorbing and holding liquid in its microscopic structure and the breathable outer outer surface evaporates the excess moisture away from the dressing. As a result, a wound environment will be formed which enhances the healing process without the need for frequent dressing changes.

Instructions For Use

1. The white, patterned surface should be applied to your heel.
2. Secure the dressing using a light bandage (such as Easifix Conforming Gauze Bandage or Easifix Self Adhesive Dressing Retention Bandage), or using a tape (such as Hypafix non Woven Adhesive Dressing Sheet or Albupore Low Allergy Paper Tape).
3. You should inspect Allevyn Heel Dressings frequently at the early stages of treatment. Dressings can remain in place undistributed until the exudate visibility and approaching the dressing edge. The film backing prevents fluid strikethrough and bacterial contamination.  

Remember not to use Allevyn Heel Shaped Foam Dressing along with oxidizing agents including hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide solutions, because they can break down the hydrocellular component of the dressing. Infrequently, reddening of the skin and sensitivity to the dressing have been reported. The reddening can be due to the irritation of fragile skin or wound exudate remaining in contact with peri-wound skin for long periods. If reddening or sensitization happens to you, stop using the dressing and consult a healthcare professional.
