Comfeel® Hydrocolloid Dressing Range

Comfeel® Plus Hydrocolloid Dressings

Comfeel® Plus is a hydrocolloid dressing range designed to support moist wound healing, wound protection, and everyday comfort in suitable acute and chronic wounds.

With a soft, low-profile design and transparent options, Comfeel® dressings are commonly used where gentle protection, easy wound observation, and moisture balance are important.

Why Choose Comfeel®?

Hydrocolloid Technology

Forms a cohesive gel in contact with wound exudate to help protect the wound surface.

Moist Wound Healing

Helps maintain a moist wound environment in suitable low to moderately exuding wounds.

Comfortable Protection

Designed to help reduce friction and shear forces across vulnerable wound areas.

Easy Wound Inspection

Transparent options can support easier wound observation without unnecessary disturbance.

Common Comfeel® Dressing Uses

Acute & Chronic Wounds

May be used for selected wounds such as abrasions, cuts, burns, leg ulcers, and pressure injuries.

Post-Operative Wounds

Can be considered for selected post-operative wounds where protection and moisture balance are required.

Localised Wound Areas

Contoured dressing options may help support application around areas such as the sacrum, elbow, or other shaped sites.

Low to Moderate Exudate

Best suited where exudate is manageable and high-volume absorption is not the main clinical priority.

Clinical note: Comfeel® is generally aligned with wound protection, moisture balance, and low to moderate exudate management. For heavily exuding wounds, foam or more absorbent dressing systems may be more suitable.

Comfeel® Plus Dressing Options

Comfeel® Plus

A hydrocolloid dressing option for selected acute and chronic wounds requiring protection and moist wound healing support.

Comfeel® Plus Transparent

Designed to provide wound protection while allowing easier visual inspection of the wound area.

Comfeel® Plus Contoured

Shaped options designed for more localised wound areas where dressing fit and edge security matter.

When Comfeel® May Not Be Suitable

Hydrocolloid dressings are not appropriate for every wound. If wound fluid increases beyond the dressing’s capacity, the risk of leakage, dressing lifting, or peri-wound maceration may increase.

Review alternatives for:
  • Heavily exuding wounds
  • Deep cavity wounds requiring packing
  • Wounds with uncontrolled fluid burden
  • Situations where occlusive dressing use is not clinically appropriate

Comfeel® vs Foam Dressings

Comfeel® hydrocolloid dressings are generally used where wound protection, moisture balance, and lower exudate management are priorities. Foam dressings are usually preferred where stronger absorption, cushioning, and exudate control are required.

Simple distinction:
Comfeel® = hydrocolloid protection, moisture balance, and low to moderate exudate support.
Foam dressing = higher fluid absorption, cushioning, and exudate management.

For a deeper comparison, read our Hydrocolloid vs Foam Dressing Guide.
