Supporting Clients Under the Support at Home Program

At Medisa, we’re proud to support older Australians receiving services through the Support at Home program — a new government initiative designed to help people live safely and independently at home for as long as possible.

About the Support at Home Program

The Support at Home program is part of the Australian Government’s aged care reforms. It will replace the existing Home Care Package, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) programs, creating a more straightforward and more flexible way to access aged care services at home.

Range of Services
Support at Home may include:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)

  • Health and clinical services (nursing, therapy, allied health)

  • Domestic assistance (cleaning, gardening, meal preparation)

  • Transport and community access

  • Equipment and assistive technology to maintain independence

Funding and Eligibility
The program is government-subsidised, with clients contributing an affordable co-payment based on their circumstances.
It’s generally available to:

  • People aged 65 and over (or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)

  • Those who have completed an aged care assessment through My Aged Care

Choice and Flexibility
Support at Home gives clients greater control over their care and choice of service providers, ensuring flexibility and transparency in how support is delivered.
