Product Overview
The 3M™ Littmann® Cardiology IV™ Stethoscope is the next generation of one of the most recognised stethoscopes in clinical practice, delivering improved acoustic performance with enhanced audibility of high-frequency sounds (adult side, firm pressure). Its distinctive chalice-shaped chestpiece features tunable diaphragms on both sides, providing outstanding acoustic performance, diagnostic versatility, and convenience when assessing both adult and paediatric patients.
The paediatric side of the chestpiece converts to a traditional open bell by removing the tunable diaphragm and replacing it with the included non-chill bell sleeve. Both adult and paediatric sides use single-piece diaphragms that are easy to remove, attach, and clean thanks to smooth, crevice-free surfaces.
Tunable diaphragm technology—a 3M invention—allows clinicians to hear different frequency sounds simply by adjusting pressure on the chestpiece. Light pressure reveals low-frequency sounds, while firmer pressure captures higher-frequency sounds. This time-saving feature enables clinicians to focus on the patient, while the non-chill rim enhances patient comfort.
Headset tension is easily adjusted for individual head size and comfort by squeezing together or pulling apart the eartubes. Snap-tight, soft-sealing eartips conform to individual ears to provide an excellent acoustic seal and a comfortable fit, and are designed to require significant effort to remove for added safety.
Dual-lumen tubing combines two sound paths in a single tube, eliminating the rubbing noise associated with traditional double tubes. This design helps clinicians hear patient sounds with reduced interference.
Resilient next-generation tubing retains its shape and flexibility even after folding tightly into a pocket. It provides longer stethoscope life through improved resistance to skin oils and alcohol, is less likely to stain, and is not made with natural rubber latex or phthalate plasticizers—supporting both clinician comfort and environmental responsibility.
The Cardiology IV™ stethoscope is used not only by cardiologists, but also by specialists, general practitioners, critical care nurses, EMTs, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Made in the USA, it is supported by a seven-year warranty and supplied with large and small soft-sealing eartips, large firm eartips, a non-chill bell sleeve, and instructions. Littmann® stethoscopes are trusted worldwide for their acoustic performance, consistent quality, and long-term value.
