Hartmann Zetuvit Plus Superabsorbent Dressing – Sterile & Individually Sealed

Zetuvit Plus is a combined superabsorbent dressing constructed from four specialised layers. On the wound-facing side, the dressing features a soft, hydrophilic nonwoven material (viscose and polyamide). The inner core consists of soft cellulose fluff blended with superabsorbent polyacrylate polymers that retain fluid effectively.

This highly absorbent core is enclosed within a thin nonwoven layer that distributes exudate evenly. The outer, green polypropylene nonwoven layer is water-repellent yet air-permeable, enabling gas exchange while protecting clothing and bedding.

Zetuvit Plus is sterile and designed for superficial, moderately to severely exuding wounds — including traumatic wounds, post-operative wounds, lymphatic wounds, arterial leg ulcers — as well as chronic wounds such as pressure injuries, venous or mixed leg ulcers, and tumour wounds. The absorbent core effectively absorbs and locks in exudate.

Benefits & Features

  • Very high absorption capacity due to its superabsorbent core
  • Outer layer provides reliable protection for clothing and bedding
  • Suitable for use under compression bandages
  • Individually sealed for clinical hygiene
  • Sterile dressing for safe wound management

FAQ

What is the difference between Zetuvit and Zetuvit Plus?

Zetuvit and Zetuvit Plus are both wound dressings produced by Paul Hartmann AG. Zetuvit is a standard wound dressing made of a soft, absorbent material designed to cover and protect wounds, keeping them clean and dry. Zetuvit Plus, on the other hand, is an advanced version with increased absorbency and an additional antimicrobial layer, making it suitable for heavily exuding wounds and providing extra protection against infection.

How to use Zetuvit dressing?

To use Zetuvit dressing:

  1. Clean the wound: Ensure the wound is clean, removing any visible debris or exudate. Use saline or a wound cleanser if necessary and gently dry the area.
  2. Prepare the dressing: Open the packaging and remove the dressing, taking care not to touch the sterile surface.
  3. Apply the dressing: Place the dressing over the wound, ensuring it covers the entire wound area. If using Zetuvit Plus with a silicone border, ensure the border is centered around the wound.
  4. Secure the dressing: Use medical tape or other securement products if necessary, especially in areas with movement or pressure.
  5. Monitor the wound: Regularly check the wound for healing progress and dressing placement. Replace the dressing if it becomes saturated or if there are signs of infection.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions and consult your healthcare provider for specific advice.

Can Zetuvit Plus be used under compression?

Yes, Zetuvit Plus can be used under compression. It is designed to be used in conjunction with compression therapy, which is common for treating wounds like venous leg ulcers. The dressing's increased absorbency and antimicrobial properties make it suitable for managing exudate and reducing infection risk under compression. Consult with a healthcare provider or wound care specialist for specific guidance on using Zetuvit Plus with compression therapy.
