Mepilex Border Flex Oval is an all-in-one flexible foam dressing with an oval shape designed for the management of chronic and acute wounds. This foam dressing has five layers including:

1. Dynamic Backing Film: This layer provides breathability and enhances moisture control. It is shower proof and a barrier to bacteria and viruses
2. Retention Layer: This layer is highly absorbent. It protects the wound and peri-wound area and lowers the maceration risk. It also ensures high comfortability due to its Flex Technology.
3. Spreading Layer: This layer enhances exudate management and its Flex Technology increases comfortability.
4. Foam Pad: This layer enhances moisture control and provides superior fluid handling capacity.
5. Safetac Technology Wound Contact Layer: This layer lowers trauma and pain before, while and after dressing changes.

Mepilex Border Flex Oval is designed to adapt to body contours and used for a variety of exuding wounds including leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds such as skin tears or surgical wounds. These dressings are also used on dry or necrotic wounds combined with gels and for preventing skin damage as part of a prophylactic therapy.
