I've used these noses for about 27 years and don't know what I'd do without them (well, my lungs would be uncomfortably cold/dry and I'd be scared of fluff, bugs and going outside). This brand lasts a solid 24 hours unlike other brands I have tried which get soggy and weird at about 4hrs. I have no idea why clinicians/nurses in my area don't recommend them more to adults with permanent tracheostomies. Ok, they look a bit strange but if you have a plastic tube in your neck anyway who cares, right? One alternative is a bib... enough said.
