The PolyMem Silver Wic Cavity Wound Filler 3x8cm is a non-adherent, silver-infused wound filler for cavity wounds that absorbs excess exudate and expands to conform to the wound shape, facilitating a moist, clean, and comfortable wound healing environment. It features a hydrophilic membrane that continuously cleanses the wound bed, releasing silver ions to control microbial growth and a tissue-friendly non-ionic cleansing agent to loosen non-viable tissue and debris. The dressing is non-adherent, preventing trauma during removal, and contains glycerol to maintain a moist, non-adherent gel while also softening tissue and controlling odor.
Key Features & Benefits:
Continuous Cleansing:
The dressing contains a non-ionic, tissue-friendly cleansing agent that continuously removes non-viable tissue, slough, and other debris from the wound bed, reducing the need for manual cleansing during dressing changes.
Moisture Management:
Its hydrophilic polyurethane membrane matrix draws in wound exudate and swells, providing superabsorbency for heavy exudate. It balances moisture by donating fluid to dry areas of the wound and absorbing excess fluid from moist areas.
Non-Adherent:
Glycerol within the dressing ensures it does not stick to the wound bed, allowing for pain-free removal and minimizing disturbance to newly formed tissue.
Antimicrobial Action:
The release of silver ions provides an antimicrobial reservoir, supporting the management of microbial contamination in the wound.
Cavity Filling:
The dressing expands up to one-third of its size when moist, conforming to the wound cavity and filling dead space to facilitate a clean and moisturized wound bed.
Odor Control:
Glycerol helps soften non-viable tissue and control odor.
Easy to Use:
This dressing is designed to be cut to size and inserted into the wound cavity.
