Instructions For Use

  1. Cleanse your wound based on normal procedures.
  2. Choose the suitable dressing size for you.
  3. Prepare the surrounding area of your wound by cleaning it and removing excess moisture. Also, clip any excess hair to ensure close approximation to the wound.
  4. Place the narrow end of Allevyn Sacrum Dressing a minimum of 2cm (3/4in.) above the anal sphincter. Then, smooth the dressing over your sacrum.
  5. Then, remove the remaining protector film.
  6. Allevyn Gentle Border Sacrum should be cut based on an aseptic technique ensuring that all exposed foam areas are covered with an appropriate film dressing  taking care not to cover the whole dressing.

Allevyn Gentle Border Sacrum Dressing should be inspected frequently at the early stages of wound management. If the dressing is used on an infected wound, you should inspect and treat your wound as per local clinical protocol. Sacral dressings can remain in place for up to 5 days, however, it depends on the surrounding skin, the condition of your wound or until the exudate is visible and approaches the dressing edge within 0.5cm.
